To create an universal symbol of sharing and belonging: this is the goal of Airbnb, demonstrating once again its ability to innovate. Belò (nickname of Belonging) is the new logo created by DesignStudio to expresses not only the brand of Airbnb, but the philosophy of belonging and shared economy.
Airbnb, is the global online community that connects hosts and guests: people seeking accommodation with those who offer locations.
Non a rent homes portal, but a site to share, along with the space, even emotions and life styles. The idea that Brian Chesky, Joe Gebbia and Nathan Blecharczyk have had in San Francisco in 2007 has created a new business model and has proven successful, as evidenced by the 15 million booked nights recently celebrated.
The spirit is to break with the logic of mass that has characterized for many years the tourism industry and create a new way of traveling that brings people together – each with its own individuality- and makes possible to share places and personal stories.
To simply, engaging and appealing communicate its philosophy, Airbnb asked to design its new corporate image to the global brand agency DesignStudio, the creative hub founded by Ben Wright and Paul Stafford based in London and San Francisco, which also redesigned the website.
The result is a simple logo that everyone can freehand draw that combines the concepts of People, Place and Love that are the key elements of Airbnb. The Belò can also be customized with colors and clip. Because the Belò belongs to everyone, not only to Airbnb. Belong anywhere!
