With a suggestive title inspired by “M’illumino d’immenso” (I flood myself with light of the immense) the poem “Mattina” (Morning) by Giuseppe Ungaretti, the initiative “M’illumino di meno” ( I flood myself with less light) was proposed in 2005 by Caterpillar (broadcast on Rai Radio 2, conducted by Massimo Cirri Filippo Solibello). Since then it has grown, has achieved a recognition in 2008 by the European Parliament President Hans-Gert Poettering and is output from the scope of individual virtuous act to engage institutions, municipalities, public and private companies. The call to reduce the energy consumption has a strong symbolic value and has produced tangible effects, but let’s not stop here.
Do you like to join “M’illumino d’immenso”? On February 14, turn off the lights between 6 and 7,30 pm.
