After the big spoon made to celebrate Expo 2015, Riva 1920 comes to 54° Salone Nautico Internazionale di Genova (1-6 ottobre) to present a furniture collection inside the blue pavillion designed by Jean Nouvel.
The iconic big spoon in solid cedar wood (Design by Maurizio Riva and AMeBE: Alessandra Mantovani and Eleonora Barbareschi) exhibited outside Riva 1920 headquarter in Cantù is an homage and an interpretation of the theme of the Universal Exhibition that is “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”, the spoon represents the main tool used for nourishment and marble plays the role of food itself.
From October 1st the Briccole a sea symbols between art and design will be exhibited at Salone Nautico Internazionale di Genova together with other Riva 1920’s projects.
Within this frame Riva1920 displays, near the Ytem exhibition, a collection of designed pieces realized with “Briccole” wood by famous designers: David Chipperfield, Andrea Branzi, Matteo Thun, Marc Sadler, Michele De Lucchi, Mario Botta, Claudio Bellini, Aldo Cibic, Enzo Mari, Alessandro Mendini, Pinuccio Sciola, Franco and Matteo Origoni and an extraordinary table 12-meter long in the millennial Kauri wood from New Zealand design by Renzo and Matteo Piano for the project: “Ground Zero… Ground Heros”, aimed to help the families of people died during the disaster of September 11th. Beside will be displayed Cambiano, a car totally made of “Briccole” wood from the Venice lagoon and design for Riva 1920 by Pininfarina, union between style and design for celebrating the excellence in every single area from nautica to car world’s.
