Exploring the city and its most important spots through the sound. This is the theme of the workshop Cartoline sonore dall’Europa (Musical postcards from Europe) that will take place on the 6th and the 7th of Febraury at Spazio Agorà of Triennale di Milano. A two days of practical and theorical discussion about the possibility to build urban or architectural spaces ispired by the sound and its features and to try to understand the musical immagination that a city environment can give.
Musical Postcards from Europe is a multidisciplinary workshop combining sound design, architecture and city planning together, realized by MMT Creative Lab in collaboration with IED Milan, Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory and Triennale di Milano. It will compare several urban spaces, such as Berlin Potsdamer Platz or Milan Piazza Città di Lombardia, trying to estabilish the connection between these places and the aesthetics of the music.
A number of experts with different background will attend the event, such as the architect Ricciarda Belgiojoso, who has organized the project, the land artist Susanna Rosellini, the musicians and composers Painè Cuadrelli, Giovanni Cospito, Matteo Pennese and Walter Prati, and, for the musical research and production center AGON, Giorgio Sancristoforo
