The 60th Boat Show (Genoa 1/6 October 2020) confirms the fundamental value of design also in the nautical sector with an award dedicated to this sector. The first edition of the Design Innovation Award includes nine sections; the prize giving ceremony will take place in the Forum room on Saturday 3 October (11/12 am, Blu Pavilion, Mezzanine floor).
“Never stay still. A lesson learned from the sea” this is the evocative claim of the 60th edition of the Genoa Boat Show which, as proof of its dynamism, establishes the new Design Innovation Award, announced by Confindustria Nautica and I Saloni Nautici (the organizer of the Genoese exhibition ). The goal is to support and encourage the excellence of boating and to enhance the innovation promoted by the exhibitors present at the show through their latest products.
Design Innovation Award includes nine categories:
cruiser sailing boats,
regatta sailing boats,
motorboats,
RIBs, superyachts (over 24m),
superboats (over 10m),
multihulls,
accessories and equipment.
Original products, made by the exhibitors of the 60th Boat Show over the last year (between the 2019 Boat Show and the 2020 Boat Show), participate in the award.
Following a remote pre-selection phase and a secondary that will take place over the first days of the Salone, the winners will be decided by an international jury made up of design experts, representatives of the academia, producers and specialized journalists.
In addition to the prizes for the nine sections, there are special Innovation and Career Awards.
The Talent Award is aimed at young people and will be awarded to designers with a maximum of 35 years of age who have distinguished themselves for their skills and achievements.
