On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile press conference organized yesterday in Milan, the president of FederlegnoArredo Emanuele Orsini has revealed who will be the designer of the new headquarters.
Some unofficial voice was already in the air, but now it’s official: the new FederlegnoArredo’s “great home for everibody” will be designed by the internationally renowned architect Michele De Lucchi.
The new Headquarter of Federlegno Arredo Eventi, (organizer of Salone del Mobile and MADE expo) will be built in an area of about 6000 square meters in Milan, which was owned by Fondazione Fiera Milano.
The new structure “will guarantee adequate space for an organization that crossed national borders some years ago and has its sights set increasingly on global targets” as Emanuele Orsini quoted. “A modern, sustainable and iconic building located in one of the most prestigious districts of the new Milan “.
From unofficial rumors it would seem that the new headquarter will also integrated an hotel …
The works should start in September 2019 and end in 2021 to celebrate the inauguration of the 60th anniversary of the Salone del Mobile.
At the moment they hasn’t communicate if Michele De Lucchi will design only the architecture, or space planning and interior design too.
