The city of Milan has decided to dedicate a street to Joe Colombo, founding father and master of design, one of the most important figures in the international panorama.
For firms like B-Line he still represents a true ideal, a precise spirit for “doing design”, ever since the choice of the early products, as the Boby storage unit and the Multichair transformable seating system, to the newest Ring and Crossed.
Constantly projected towards the future, Joe Colombo was a determined and hyper-productive designer, a veritable creative “machine” defining its work with the concept: “My design experiences are always an attempt to create an evolutionary link between the current and the future reality”.
As Aldo Colonetti has written “everything designed by Joe Colombo also speaks from his heart, to the sentiments, going well beyond mere functional and technical needs; his ongoing quest for an expressive shape, capable of relating to all, is perhaps Joe Colombo’s greatest quality.”
