For us, the coronavirus emergency began in mid-January, before the Chinese New Year holiday time, says Massimo Roj, CEO and Founder of Progetto CMR, an integrated architecture company with branches in several Asian countries (China, Vietnam, Taiwan).
Concerning the analysis on our office, we verified a significant increase in efficiency, 13%, in the first 2 weeks with a very high degree of responsibility, because for many years we have been working toward goals.
The changes we are experiencing will also influence the office and city project. We will have two moments.
The first, about a couple of years, will be the gradual return, with strict rules on the social containment, social distance and safety with an implementation of “real” smart working, continuing to work from home, but also from other locations.
In the future we will continue to go to the office, however, we will have to have greater care and different habits and ways of meeting; we will travel less and have more virtual meetings,
Not only workplace, but also all other kind of buildings, will have to become increasingly flexible.
This will lead to a change in land management, as architects we will have to use our imagination to make cities more livable and comfortable.
I believe that what we are experiencing will lead to greater respect for the environment and to slow down the development of urbanization.
