CBRE employees and collaborators, always used to smart working, have not had particular problems in facing the difficulties imposed by the ministerial measures due to the corona virus, indeed they face this difficult moment as an opportunity.
This emergency offers the opportunity to treasure mistakes made and above all to collect current data and phenomena useful for new approaches to workplace design.
Alberto Cominelli, Head of Project Management Italy CBRE, summarizes in this video interview, his point of view.
First of all it is confirmed the value of the workplace as a physical and spatial core where people meet and the brand identifies itself.
However, the corona virus experience accelerates the changes dictated by the new Ways Of Working.
Among the current phenomena that will have the greatest impact on the workplace design, Cominelli identifies:
Smart Working; increase in Activity Based Office; reduction in the work station / employee ratio (mobility ratio) which will not result in a reduction in m2 / person; evolution of technology with the spread of advanced videoconference systems with augmented reality, holograms, etc.
To these factors are added the need for concentration and wellbeing which will have an increasingly fundamental role in the workplace.
