Office and contract chairs is a lively sector with always interesting surprises in store for us, in the field both of multitasking chairs – where technology and new planning approaches offer increasingly userfriendly and comfortable solutions – and the community and lounge sector featuring a new and top-level design. The role of materials becomes increasingly important.

The inspiration was to create an object that would establish a connection among those using it, a sort of small urban living room: this is where the idea of having two backrests originated from. Thus people can sit and still face each other.
2 Modus, Library, design by Michael Sodeau.
It is a high back, compact and enveloping sofa that offers a degree of privacy and an element of noise reduction. It is ideal for break out spaces, hotel lobbies and offices. It is available in a wide range of fabrics and leathers.
3 De Padova, Deck, design by Luca Nichetto.
The great ocean liners of the past had long promenades that overlooked the sea. These decks, as well as the seats that were placed along them, were made of boat building wood, which is resistant to moisture, salt and adverse weather conditions.
4 Herman Miller, Sedia Mirra 2 design by Studio 7.5.
The quartet Burkhard Schmitz, Carola Zwick, Claudia Plikat, and Roland Zwick upgraded Mirra with Breathability, an intelligent support structure (Butterfly Back) and Harmonic Tilt, the new tilt is even more in sync with the body’s motions.

7 Segis, Mono-Twin, sofa lounge, Bartoli Design.
This armchair and sofa with a high privacy back is designed as a teardrop shape in plan and is deeper at the center, thus allowing for different configurations: such as circular arrangements or back to back compositions that create a chain of elements. The backrest is characterized by a unique stitching technique, that is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic quilted look. Mono-Twin is accompanied by Kick, a small, movable oval table

With its combination of a flexible plastic frame, elastic knitted fabric and an integrated synchronizing mechanism, Physix explores the possibilities of dynamic sitting. Like the Aluminium Chair, the construction of Physix is based on the idea of creating a continuous textile seat and back, held between two parallel profiles.

The Cividina celebrates the famous French designer Pierre Paulin with a faithful remake of the Osaka sofa designed in 1970.

A project inspired by fashion, the concepts and techniques of textile are applied to the world of furniture. The union of the pieces that form the collection is obtained through a technique that simulates the sewing of garments.

Innovation is given by its functional ergonomic cut on the back. Flexing the upper part of the back, the lower part automatically advances, thus supporting further the lumbar and providing comfort.
