The construction of the Smart Space A2A in Brescia has started. this poli functional building (coworking space, company catering and internal events) will be an example of sustainability and integration between environment and architecture.
Massimo Roj, founder of Progetto CMR who designs it, explains the intent is “to build a beautiful and comfortable nest for those who work there and with a positive impact on the environment. Climbing greenery will constitute a fundamental element, which will envelop and protect the building like a natural organism“.
The key words that define A2A’s new “Smart Space” are: iconic, natural, flexible.
The new building – designed for new ways of working and to increase involvement, efficiency, comfort – is an advanced container of new energies, smart services, circular economy and also “A place attentive to wellbeing of employees, called to foster and develop a sense of belonging and cohesion of a community “- as explains the President Giovanni Valotti, who adds -” The new headquarters reflects the human centered A2A values”.
CEO Valerio Camerano highlights the “Sustainable design and optimizing energy consumption with low environmental impact and opening towards new forms of collaboration and dialogue with the city“.
Each floor has specific functions: at ground floor the entrance hall and the canteen that can be reconfigured in conference or training room; at the first floor the meeting area and coworking spaces; in the basement the technical and service areas.
The project
It is a natural an dynamic building (2,700mq) characterized outside by the presence of vertical elements acting as a large “pergola” consisting of large steel portals.
These white portals enclose a minimal and dark “box”, with large windows that allow natural light to freely enter the interior.
The climbing plants that grow along the uprights protect nest of the envelope, shielding the interior from direct sun exposure.
The building – that includes integrated Building Automation system- is NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building), very energetically performing.
The build is expected to be completed in about two years.
