Aircare is a made in Italy project born in 2017, for air quality control of pollution air quality to improve indoor comfort and safety.
In January 2021, the results of a specific test carried out with Aircare Vairus technology on the SARS-COV2 strain in an Italian class 3 laboratory accredited UNI CEI EN ISO / IEC 17025: 2018, documented the efficiency of the photocatalytic technology, detecting a 99.94% reduction of the virus in the first 5 minutes of treatment on photocatalytic filters.
The Aircare Vairus purifier is made up of a porous photocatalytic filter system interspersed with UV-A light LED boards.
The virus was placed on the filter in three positions irradiated with UV light. In each of the three positions, in correspondence of the UV light, 100μL of a viral suspension was inserted.
Subsequently, after 5 minutes, 1 hour and 4 hours, the activity of the residual virus was tested by evaluating the infectious dose of tissue culture 50% (TCID50).
The evaluated device demonstrated an average reduction of 3.25 Log10 in viral titer.
