
Would you like to enjoy the best of industrial design before the crazy Milano Design Week? The Compasso d’Oro come back to Milan after two years; more than 400 products, selected over the last three years by ADI Design Index, will be presented to the International Jury for the presentation of the Award and to the public, too. The show is hosted from April 2nd in the former Ansaldo Factory, which has been made available by the City of Milan.
The exhibiton is part of the integrated program named “Design è” promoted by the Lombardy Region together with the City of Milan, ADI Association for Industrial Design and FederlegnoArredo for promoting Design as a tool in light of the forthcoming Expo and the attractiveness of the area as a strategic sector in terms of the competitiveness of its economic system. The program includes events and promotional activities to the tune of over €1,000,000 during the two years 2014/2015”. The Exhibition will be the opportunity for presenting the XXIII Compasso d’Oro 2014 that will become International to celebrate its 60th anniversary (1954/2014).The second major component of the “Design è” comprehensive programme is the Design Competition, a regional project aimed at designers under 35 which involves collaboration with Lombardy Companies; the presentation of prototypes, of the winner projects will be held at the Salone del Mobile 2015. Next year the Compasso d’Oro Historical Collection will have its permanent home in the former Enel area, which will become the the new ADI headquarters, with those of other organizations, and the heartland of Milanese design as well as an additional place for culture and the sharing of ideas.
