BTicino has a new Managing Director. His name is Franco Villani, currently Deputy General Director. He takes over the position previously covered by Paolo Perino, Chairman, who has been asked by the Legrand group to take on the responsibility of Director of the Business Unit Building Systems.
Mr. Villani, born in 1962 in Novara, married with one daughter, has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic of Milan. After a short period in Enel, he arrived in BTicino in 1990 as Assistant Product Manager and gradually made his way to becoming Marketing Manager for industrial products.
Together with the experience in marketing, he subsequently acquired a significant level of knowledge in sales, as Sales Manager for the Lombardy Region. In 1997 he was promoted to Commercial Director.
In this role, he has managed the process for the integration of the various brands of the Legrand Group in Italy, and of the many acquisitions completed: Legrand, Zucchini, Cablofil, Metasystem Energy and Vantage. Last April he was appointed Chairman of Metel, company affiliated to the main Associations of the electro-technic and lighting production chain.
