Of course, a flower is not enough to finally reach real equal opportunities and to recognize the key role women have in the work world, but coloring your offices with mimosas, the 8th March, is a very elegant gesture and a very pleasent gift. That was the thought that leads Hw Style to lauch “Regala una Mimosa”, a practical and convenient delivery service for the Women’s Day.
In Italy the yellow mimosa is the “official flower” of the 8th March since 1946, thanks to two activists of the Union of Italian Women (U.D.I.) Rita Montagnana and Teresa Mattei.
The perfect flower to celebrate this day: it comes from a pioneer plant that represents perfectly the the fights to claim women’s right, it blooms around March and its flowers are bright, solar, but somehow fragile, as women are.
In the days before the 8th March the Piano C’s crowdfunding campaing for the project C to Work will end.
Founded in Milano in 2012, with the purpose to find new ways of working more suitable for women, Piano C is the first space in Italy which allows women and job offer to concretely meet. The crowdfunding campaing was run for C to Work, a training programme, a network and also a link with the work world: 20 selected candidates will have the opportunity to measure themselves in a real job environment, joining an innovative course with experts that will follow them step by step in the realizations of projects in partnership with local companies. A great idea to create a new chances for women to start or to re-plan their carreers.
