Park Associati is the winner of the competition for the project of the complex of buildings that will become the new headquarters of Regione Lombardia.
Palazzo Sistema, this is its name, will not only be a new green building including a large public park in Milan, but also an opportunity for urban regeneration based on human and community wellbeing.
Environmental, social and economic issues have always been the basis of the design approach by Park Associati, an architectural, urban planning, interior design and product design studio founded in 2000 by Filippo Pagliani and Michele Rossi.
Faithful to this approach, the architectural project of the new Regione Lombardia office buildings is interpreted as an opportunity to redevelop a large area (between via Pola, via Rosellini, via Taramelli and via Abbadesse) and to act the involvement of the entire neighborhood.
The community will in fact become the main user of this public and protected space at the same time.
The green is protagonist.
The horizontal “backbone” is made up of double and triple height green terraces, recognizable from the outside thanks to the modular photovoltaic glass facades, which houses a large roof garden on the low body. This horizontality is interrupted by the 26-storey tower on via Rosellini.
The large public park, which represents the element of urban mending, is designed according to the principles of the Dry Garden, a self-sufficient garden with low maintenance requirements.
The rainwater, collected in the hollows of the land, is then slowly drained to favor climatic mitigation.
The biophilic approach and the relationship with nature generate a sustainable architecture and a hight interior spaces quality promoting wellbeing both for those who will work in these spaces and the community.
