The regulations on social distancing in public places and office have imposed barriers, screens and spacers, not always aesthetically pleasing and almost always in plexiglass.
However, there are also eco-sustainable and cheaper solutions, 100% recyclable, made of translucent paper and natural birch wood produced by PlayWood.
“We went in search of something that was able to guarantee the same level of effectiveness of plexiglass as a physical barrier against covid-19, but green.” explains Stefano Guerrieri, co-founder and CEO of PlayWood.
The screens are made of opalescent paper to allow the passage of light; the surfaces are treated with a plasticizing system that allows cleaning with a damp cloth or an alcoholic solution. Thanks to the flexibility of the material, they are delivered in rolls.
The stability of the panel is guaranteed by the free-standing supports in birch wood.
This line of furniture includes both high separators (SplitUp) and screens to be installed on desks (Apart). It is also completed by dispensers for sanitizers and desks for information points.
Among the advantages, in addition to sustainability, lightness and flexibility, the economic aspect should not be overlooked: the cost of the desk panels is 20% lower than the plexiglass models, while for the man-height separator panels the savings come up to 80%.
