The number of desks is in sharp decline in relation to the number of employees (on average 70%) but, on the other hand, the market request higher performances.
Orgatec 2018 confirms that the traditional desk is increasingly replaced by sit-stand electrified models adjustable in height according to the dynamic and healthy vision of the workplace.
Dynamic ergonomics thanks to Sit-Stand desk.
Alternating position during work is good for health: scientific evidences promote dynamic ergonomics in the workplaces.
The benefits of height-adjustable desks are demonstrates and many producer companies launched at Orgatec sophisticated and user friendly sit-stand workstations with electrical mechanisms.
Furthermore, some of them integrate software suggesting users when it’s time to change position.
Change function by changing position.
In addition, the sit-stand mechanisms are often used to change the function of the desk: the individual workstation becomes an informal sharing area simply by raising the height of the top and gathering colleagues around it.
Industrial linear actuators are used for height adjustment (those of Linak are among the best), but the creativity of designers is able to invent very different, cool models.
Stop to the sit-stand desk design homologation!
The design recently offers a wide choice.
Different types of legs are able to integrate height adjustment devices. And different shapes of tops, not necessarily rectangular are available.
There are “luxury” and basic models, almost all are equipped, with screens and even small “sheds”.Often the sit-stand models are part of larger collections that also include traditional desks, and high or low meeting tables for standing or sitting meetings.
