The launch of the new Sedus products is identified by the motto “The Detox Office: a mindful ecosystem for the workplace” a vision faithful to the mission of “productive wellbeing” which has always been the basis of the German company’s proposals.
The most recent considerations on the meaning of the workplace, a greater awareness of companies of the importance of health and wellbeing of employees and the higher expectations in terms of work-life balance by the latter have suggested new design approaches: the workplace is not just a place where people work well, but above all a place where they feel good.
Further information on these topics can be found in the new issue 17 of Sedus Insights, available here .
Ernst Holzapfel, Head of Marketing at Sedus Stoll AG. perfectly summarizes the concepts behind the Detox Office:“The new ecosystem of the working environment goes beyond the traditional idea of an office and can be perceived as a dynamic complex of communities and activity zones. Areas blend together to form a single unit where different types of work coexist, creating a biotope environment that offers people a variety of workspaces and promotes more movement and variety. Biophilic design and the use of plants play a crucial role in finding balance and counteracting digital exhaustion.”
One of the most important tasks of the “Detox Office” is to create an environment where people can balance their digital work.
On the theme of biophilia, Sedus adds to the se:lab mobile elements Mobile Planter, a plant wall that acts as a design dividing element to create flexible green oases.
In fact, it has been shown that not only do plants enrich the air with oxygen and humidity, filter pollutants and make the indoor climate healthier, but they can also increase wellbeing, reduce stress and have a motivating effect and increase employees satisfaction in the office.
“Plants not only bring different shades of green to the working environment, they also create a more relaxed atmosphere. Furthermore, they positively influence the acoustics of the rooms by effectively reducing any reverberation. With the addition of the se:lab mobile planter and the planter for the se:matrix shelving system, Sedus creates green zoning elements.”, adds Ernst Holzapfel.
The three new color shades of se:air are also inspired by nature with monochrome application concept for the different parts of the chair for an extremely refined image that is perfect in the office as well as for the home office.
Together with the various expansions of the se:matrix shelving system, another element of the Detox Office is se:dot, the comfortable pouf with an organic design and pleasant chromatic nuances, perfect for making informal and brain-storming areas pleasant and welcoming.
