At Palazzo Litta, Manerba presented Flowered Offices, its very personal, feminine and colourful view of the office, in an unusual layout designed by Raffaella Mangiarotti and Ilkka Suppanen: a veritable “blooming of ideas” that decks the central arcade, where the company’s projects meet people and improve, as they try to understand and respond to the new ways of contemporary living and working.
Manerba tells us about this new view in a polyphony of designers’ voices – Shane Schneck and Raffaella Mangiarotti and Ilkka Suppanen – and a wide range of projects, from the green, soundproof Apollo desk system, to the Undecided sofas doted all around the trail, next to the light Litta desks and tables.
Wireless is the buzzword here: actually, wires are not only hidden, as in the Apollo, inside the hollow C-shaped legs, there isn’t any at all, as in Undecided and in the Litta Collection, as a hidden rechargeable battery that’s very helpful for recharging our devices keeps the desk looking good, yet functional and easy to move around.
Apollo.
The name is a tribute to the mythical spaceship and to the landing system, called to mind by the inclination and the shape of the table legs
“The approach to designing a new bench system for Manerba is defined by intuition and innovative materials” says Shane Schneck, who first thought of how to hide the unsightly and annoying “cable tangle” with which we all deal every day.
The C profile of the legs provides a space to tuck away the cable and is directly connected to the work top. Soft touch laminate work surface together with natural and sustainable, cork panels will provide a tactile and acoustic dampening experience.
To equip the cork panel, Schneck has designed a series of colored containers of various shapes and sizes, made of 100% recyclable aluminum.
Apollo system also provides electric height adjustment of the desk with a telescopic system for ergonomic sit-stand workstations.
