After two years dedicated to design and two to construction, the new Futura 2 production line is now operational in the Geseke factory for which Sedus has invested around 21 million.
The new production site complements the existing Futura 1 production line from 2012 and thus allows to significantly increase production capacity for the expected turnover growth and expand the product range to respond to new market demands and individual customer needs, reducing production and delivery times.
9,500 m2 of large production and storage warehouses! The plant in Geseke, East Westphalia, is the largest single investment in the history of Sedus Stoll AG.
“The interaction between the Futura 1 and Futura 2 systems and the assembly departments is running smoothly. In total, Sedus has a capacity for 33,000 wooden components between the two plants, working a 5- day week with a possible 3-shift operation. And importantly, the new production line also reduces the workload of the Futura 1 plant and thus makes a decisive contribution to raising the adherence to delivery dates to Sedus’ usual target level in the face of the increased turnover of the last two years.” explains Daniel Werhahn, Managing Director of Sedus Systems GmbH.
“With the new production line Futura 2 additional capacities are being built up to be able to meet workload peaks more quickly. The automated panel cutting process reduces throughput times and significantly speeds up production processes.” explains Daniel Kittner, spokesperson of the Board at Sedus Stoll AG. “
