The Pavilion Zero curated by Davide Rampello and designed by Michele de Lucchi for Expo Milano 2015 wins the Wallpaper Design Award for the category “Best building site”.
The Wallpaper Design Awards is the annual prize that Wallpaper, International leading magazine in the field of architecture, design, fashion, lifestyle and travel, gives to people, places, products and projects which have marked themselves during the previous year and set the trends in the world.
The Pavilion Zero, with facades made with wood, that introduces visitors to the Expo Milano 2015 Site, received this important award because will take visitors on an extraordinary and captivating journey, into the earths crust.
It will tell with an immediate and emotional language an amazing itinerary: how much man has produced since arriving on this earth, the transformation of the natural landscapes and the culture and rituals of consumption as a starting point for any future project.
“We wanted to tell a story which begins from the earliest period of human history, through symbols and myths, the different stages of evolution and man’s relationship with Nature – tells the curator Davide Rampello – the story ends with the current paradox regarding nutrition. A fascinating journey that turns a universal story into an individual one.”
