
On the occasion of the seminar “Certifying health and well-being in the workplace: new frontiers of sustainability” organized by WOW! with Coima and Assufficio, arch Marco Fossi, head of the Federlegno Arredo and Assufficio Technical Committee, explained what CAM are, what are the critical issues emerged and the possible adjustments to simplify their application.
The Ministerial Decree of 11/01/2017 was approved and became Legislative Decree (No. 56) on 04/19/2017.
Since that date the application of CAM Environmental Minimum Criteria is mandatory for every public procurement competition through Consip.
CAM have 2 sections:
Purchase of new furnishings with reduced environmental impact;
Rental service for furnishings with reduced environmental impact.
CAM office furnishings, mandatory minimum criteria:
Dangerous substances;
Formaldehyde emissions;
Contaminants in recycled wood panels;
VOC content in paints;
Chemical residues in textiles and leather;
Sustainability and legality of wood;
Percentage of recycled plastic;
Coatings (textiles);
Padding materials;
Requirements for the finished product;
Disassembly;
Packaging;
Warranty (minimum 5 years).
CAM office furnishings, award criteria:
VOC emissions from products;
Modularity;
Collection and reuse of existing furnishings before the race;
Extended warranty over 5 years.
