After 16 years as Commercial Director at Interface Italia, Filippo Giovanni Saba has taken on the new role of General Manager.
The new job title represents the official recognition of a function actually already evolved from the “plain” commercial management to a broader role.
This assignment also stems from the desire to give the market greater and clearer recognition of the organizational structure in Italy.
After graduating in business administration at Luigi Bocconi University, Filippo G. Saba has always held roles in the commercial, marketing and export manager function; first for 6 years at Saint Gobain and later for 16 years at Interface as Commercial Director, until last month.
Thus Filippo Giovanni Saba comments on his new role:
“Interface in Italy has always had a purely commercial structure, but has also always focused on the values of sustainability, circular economy, and decarbonisation. My new role as General Manager will therefore facilitate relations with the various stakeholders to convey Interface’s vision on these issues.”
This is certainly a fundamental aspect for a company like Interface that has sustainability in its DNA and has been implementing concrete actions for years to minimize the environmental impact.
In 1994 Mission Zero started, whose objective was to eliminate the negative impact on the environment by 2020.
Respecting those objectives and pursuing ambitions that seemed unrealistic, today the new challenge “Climate Take Back” has been set, that is to create a ‘ company with negative impact by 2040.
“The new position of General Manager also underlines the importance that Italy has for Interface. While constituting – especially for carpet tiles – a niche market, our country represents excellence in design and its wealth of knowledge.” Filippo Giovanni Saba continues.
What are the strategies planned for 2022?
“Basically we will continue to move on two tracks; on the one hand we will continue on our path of growth and enhancement of internal resources.
On the other hand, we will continue to play a leading role in promoting the ecological transition and issues related to sustainability, wellbeing and biophilia.” replies Filippo Giovanni Saba.
