With the strong growth of the last edition (235 exhibitors and + 19.7% of visitors) the exhibition in Paris becomes the second largest European fair in office furniture sector.
The ninth edition leaves the national dimension, as confirmed by the 84 international brands present and + 7% of international visitors: numerous are Italian producers who always have considered France an important market. Among them Mascagni which he kindly summarizes for WOW! impressions and trends.
The Workspace Expo date for the next year – tenth edition – has already been set: 10/12 March 2020!
Avoiding the position strictly close to Salone del Mobile of the last edition (16th to 18th April 2019) which in any case did not discourage the 18,000 visitors, nor the exhibitors who, in some cases, even preferred to participate in the Porte de Versailles event renouncing the great Milanese show.
Among these Mascagni who for the first time exhibited in Paris sharing the stand with 4Design, and shows a clearly positive impression.
“This fair is not ‘assaulted by ordinary people’, as happens at Salone del Mobile, we appreciated the quality of the visitors involved in interesting conversations on specific topics and needs.- architect Pietro Mascagni quotes and continues- It is a balanced and horizontal fair, made up of many corners, where all companies receive the same treatment and can compete on the same level (without huge, folkloristic or exclusive stands).
Every company can express its own value, its essence, avoiding being “crushed” by big players. The impression is a concrete fair, where the product is privileged rather than trends, philosophies, concepts.
Alessio De Luca, Marketing and Research & Development Consultant at Mascagni, dwells on the general mood and trends at the ninth edition of Workspace Expo.
“Workspace Expo looks a reminiscent of the Orgatec of the 2000s. A sort of return to the origins of the office world, which materializes its inventions with an increasingly attentive eye to technology combined with wellness areas and comfortable hyper-equipped areas.
Shared areas, movable walls, meeting spaces, meeting tables that are at the same time work areas: these are the protagonists of a variegated and colorful microcosm dedicated to the natural world.
The material trends of the Salone del Mobile are shifted to the office creations, take the coldness of marble and ceramics, making the lines bright and rigorous. Colors and fabrics wrap lamps and sound-absorbing panels with natural shades that combine perfectly with the natural vertical structures that divide the space with oxygen dispensers and plants”.
The products presented by Mascagni at Workspace Expo.
Screen, a modular screening system for open space (developed by Mascagni R&D in collaboration with Ergon Design) was presented in its final version.
It allows the vertical management between sound-absorbing, melamine and glass panels. The horizontal structure made with shelves in melamine ensures the solidity allowing to smartly modulate the space.
The new Lounge series was previewed in Paris. It consists of a seat, a sofa, an armchair, a pouf and a coffee table, integrating colors and materials in an office version that shifts onto the reception area with its wooden and metallic wire structures. The back, available in white, anthracite and leather, is the characterizing element.
The self-supporting wooden box anticipates the Niwa project, an office pod in progress with the contribution of the architect Paolo Mantero. This evolution adds a ceiling with thermo regulation, exclusive to Mascagni.
Workstation, the new operative system with seven different legs and supports, was also presented as a preview.
In Paris it was present in the bench version, with shared desks, with top access and sound-absorbing screens.
The partnership with 4Design, a company dedicated to sound-absorbing products, perfectly integrates the Mascagni’s company values: the challenge is to make beautiful any surface that can trap sound, even using wood and melamine.
Thanks to Pietro Mascagni and Alessio De Luca for the collaboration.
