
The reconversion – promoted by Lendlease – of the area that hosted Expo 2015 in Milan and which takes on the new name of MIND (Milan Innovation District) comes to life in Milan.
Another important piece of global redevelopment was recently inaugurated: Designtech, the hub dedicated to technological innovation in the design, furniture and construction sector that occupies the former Village Pavilion, reinterpreted by Lombardini22 to respond to new functions. The transformation saw in the role of technical sponsor the participation of some important office design companies that have always made innovation their strong point.
The beautiful wooden pavilion designed by Michele De Lucchi in 2015 for Banca Intesa has now become Designtech: an innovative, welcoming, flexible and multifunctional workplace, centered on wellbeing, environmental quality and sociality that houses offices , coworking, reception and reception spaces, a kitchen and all the services to host events.
Designtech addresses the MIND ecosystem as a hub for technological innovation in the design field, bringing companies of excellence in the design sector closer to start-ups with the aim of designing solutions and new development models, capable of improving and changing the way we live.
The project saw the participation of various brands of the Lombardini22 Group: following the Call4Solutions call for action, DEGW concretized the elements emerged in the brain storming conducted by the research team, dealing with space planning and interior design; together with Hi-Interiors it has also selected the projects of the startups and companies symbol of excellence (among these Caimi, Herman Miller, Interface, Estel, Sedus, HW Style, Universal Selecta, CUF Milano).
FUD oversaw the MIND Marketing Suite project and studied the graphic solutions, while DDlab took care of the acoustics.

The ground floor is the core of this hub, a space for experimentation and a showcase for prototypes, materials and innovative products.
Here you will find the reception, a professional kitchen, meeting rooms and lounge areas and also the flexible and reconfigurable Lendlease MIND Marketing Suite, capable of illustrating the values of MIND through the use of technologies and immersive atmospheres that virtually bring the visitor into the city of the future.
The MIND Marketing Suite is developed in three thematic areas – Work & Meet, Pitch Arena, Immersive Space – which represent the three main pillars of the project: flexibility, technology, sustainability.
Coworking on the first floor.
The actual operational area where the start-ups will work and share their experiments is that of coworking on the upper floor.
A dynamic and light workplace that overlooks the lower floor and provides users with different configurations of furniture for different activities and needs: from the bench table to the phone booth, from the touch down workstations with high tables to the meeting rooms bordered by glass walls. Always in the name of ergonomics, environmental quality and sustainability.
