The new office furniture rental service Ikea Flex is a pilot project active in some Italian cities (Bologna, Milan, Rome). It is aimed at startups and new companies that need to furnish their workplaces in a flexible way and avoiding large initial investments.
An interesting solution also from a sustainability point of view because the furnishings are put back into circulation at the end of the rental, avoiding unnecessary waste.
With this 100% deductible solution, which blends business and circular economy, Ikea responds to the new, rapidly changing needs of the world of work: Daniela Licciardello, Innovation Manager of Ikea Italia, summarizes the objectives of the new service: “We want to be even more close to the needs of customers and at the same time helping to reduce waste, putting back into circulation the furniture that is no longer needed.”
For greater customization, the service includes the support of a consultant who accompanies customers in all phases from design to delivery, from assembly to maintenance. At the end of the rental or in case of modification of the programs, the furnishings are collected, repaired and recycled for others to use.
