Sedus Dealer Meeting 2023 was particularly rich in content, novelties and suggestions, starting with the choice of location – the ADI Design Museum in Milan – which confirms the increasingly marked attention to design of the historic German company.
The meeting was also an opportunity to introduce the new Commercial Director Roberto De Vittori and Hartmut Boehlefeld, Director International Sales.
Some previews of Sedus’ brilliant economic results in 2022 have been leaked and above all new products have been launched: among these the new customizable modular office chair concept se: kit.
The brilliant speech by Lorenzo Maresca, Managing Director of Sedus Italia, concluded with a lucid summary of the megatrends taking place in the workplace.
The Sedus Dealer Meeting 2023 was a real breath of energy and positivity, from every point of view. Sedus turnover in Italy – even if provisional pending the official fiscal closure – is close to + 25%.
The data also show how Sedus – the historic seating company par excellence – has evolved to offer the market a complete office ecosystem: the composition of Italian sales in 2022 in fact shows 41% furniture, 30% chairs, and 29% communication and other accessories.
At the opening, Lorenzo Maresca introduced the new Commercial Director Roberto De Vittori who joins the large and consolidated Sedus Team, identified together with Dialogue and Transparency as one of the founding growing values.

Sedus has responded to the constant growth with investments of 30 million euros in 2022, a new production plant in the opening phase, increasingly important environmental challenges (sustainability sheet for all products and Carbon Free production by 2025) as well as a launching plan of new products in 2023 on a semi-annual basis.
The products and prototypes launched in preview at the last Orgatec were also officially presented in Italy: the intelligent and modular bookcase system se.matrix, the light and colorful chair se:air, the armchair with a domestic and informal mood se:lab sofa, the upgrade of the se:cube phone booth with even higher sound-absorbing performance and above all the eagerly awaited se:kit, an unprecedented concept of modular office seating that allows maximum customization in terms of function, performance and status while maintaining consistency formal and aesthetic in every area of the workplace.
Thank to se:kit everyone can really “design their own ideal chair” using a tablet and the Mix&Match app: by assembling different mechanisms, seats, backrests, armrests, bases and accessories, almost infinite combinations of “custom-made chairs” can be created, including versions tested for users weighing up to 180 kg, in compliance with diversity & inclusion values!

Basic concepts, these, in the culture of the post-pandemic office that Lorenzo Maresca illustrated in his speech dedicated to the cultural transformation and mega trends taking place in the workplace.
An uninspiring scenario where 91% of employees say they feel unwell in the office and where much can therefore be done.
A scenario that attributes an increasingly important role to the quality of the workplace and can be summarized in three main strands – Sustainability, New Ways Of Working, Digitalization – which have always been the fundamental pillars of Sedus’ choices, mission actions and products.
Products that without ever neglecting ergonomics and functionality are ever more attentive to new needs and quality design, as also underlined by the architect Marco Predari who, in his role as ADI treasurer, did the honors and illustrated the activities and constant promotion of design carried out by ADI Museum.
