Comfort and wellbeing are the key concepts of the new sofa collections for public spaces presented by Caimi at the Salone del Mobile.
Not only functional furnishings with an attractive design, but real tools for wellbeing capable of muffling noise, improving environmental comfort and shielding electromagnetic pollution.
For several years the ancillary areas, called “in-between” have become the core of the workplace, a trend made more evident by the post-pandemic rethinking of the office that has changed its identity from a place of production to a place of relationship.
In this scenario, we have witnessed an exponential growth in furnishings for these “third spaces”: flexible seating systems for lounges, equipped to be used also as a workstation or meeting place.
Surprising the audience of the Salone del Mobile 2022, Caimi identified in the sector of seating for collective places a new field of application of his research on acoustic comfort, introducing elements of strong innovation in this sector by channeling the research carried out for years in the fields of acoustics, air quality, ergonomics, environmental comfort and now also electromagnetic pollution.

Strengthened by the unstoppable tension towards experimentation that is part of its DNA, the consolidated collaboration with international designers, the patented Snowsound technologies and its own Open Lab research laboratory, Caimi has been able to reinterpret the lounge chair transforming it into a real environmental comfort instrument.
And the term “instrument” is very appropriate, because the new sofa collections are conceived as real musical instruments. They use Snowsound Fiber technology for the upholstery fabrics, but the sound absorption is enhanced by the structure itself – with different characteristics for each model – developed and tested in the futuristic Caimi Open Labs.
Furthermore the ability to muffle environmental noises is also added to a further performance: the possibility of reducing the exposure of the human body to electromagnetic pollution emitted by cell towers, mobile phones, and Wi- Fi, thanks to the application of the innovative A + E technology (Acoustic + Electro magnetic reduction).
Napwork, design by Paola Navone- Otto Studio.
An elegant and versatile modular sofa system for public spaces. The generous shapes and the rich padding allow you to make the most of the Snowsound Fiber technology.
Cilindro, design by Claudio Bellini.
The cylindrical backrest is the featuring element of this family with essential lines, consisting of sofa and armchair. Also in this case the shapes and the Snowsound Fiber upholstery favor acoustic comfort and the quality of sounds.
Snoworking, a + b design (Annalisa Dominoni and Benedetto Quaquaro).
This seats collection – upholstered in Snowsound Fiber too – evokes the “fin de siècle” chairs in red velvet of old trains or some traditional French restaurants (not surprisingly, it was previewed in Paris for Workplace Expo).
The high backrest and its configuration can solve the most serious acoustic problems. A reat “virtual wall” against noise.
The backrest is very high to allow greater privacy, protection and to increase the sound-absorbing surface; however the slender shape and the seat reduced to only 49 cm, minimize the dimensions highlighting the thinness of the lines.
Volumi, design Caimi Lab.
This collection completes the proposal for acoustic wellbeing in the in-between areas: sofas, armchairs and sound-absorbing poufs, which can also be used individually, always with Snowsound Fiber fabric coverings.
