The collaboration focused on acoustics between Caimi and Paola Navone generates another amazing new idea for managing acoustic comfort.
After the 2021 project Snowpouf, an easy and joyful seat with sound-absorbing function, on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile 2022 the architect and designer Paola Navone – Otto Studio re-elaborate ethnic design and pop-art to bring a nice and colorful Tribe into our living and working environments capable of improving acoustic comfort.
The Caimi company continues its uninterrupted path that in the last decade has pushed it to explore the innumerable creative potentials of the Snowsound universe.
One of the new projects, born from the application of this innovative and award-winning sound-absorbing technology, to be launched at the next Salone del Mobile is signed by Paola Navone. And once again, she is able to generate wonder.
Paola Navone is a curious and multifaceted architect, artist and designer, attracted to everything that strays from conventions and the predictable. She was formed in the mythical Alchimia group working with Sottsass, Branzi, Mendini, etc.
The travels then stimulated her creativity: from the most distant latitudes of the world she was able to grasp and interpret signs, decorations, colors that have become the stylistic code of her work.
With her visionary approach, she also approached the technologies developed by Caimi Brevetti, transforming them into something new.
Thus Tribù was born, a “system” of sound-absorbing panels that seems to deny the very concept of System to become an ethnic decoration of strong empathy: four elements with different shapes and colors that can be combined together, creating ever-changing compositions to form giant masks on the walls. “Magic” masks capable of capturing excess noise and improving the perception of sound and voice.
“Four coloured sound-absorbing elements with geometric shapes create large silent masks on the walls with a somewhat tribal and a little pop image. As in a curious theatrical performance, they talk to each other, while having fun, they also capture sounds and noises.“ Paola Navone quoted.
