Maison&Objet, that celebrates 20 years, has forestalled the trends as far as materials and colors are concerned. Some past tendencies are also confirmed, however nothing revolutionary could be seen: metal (brass, in particular), concrete, the warm colours of earth and chocolate, as stressed also by the attracting ChocolaTextureLounge by Nendo, named créateur de l’année 2015.
Metals are still in the forefront, especially brass as part of a general trend recovering the modernist design of the first half of the twentieth century: classic details and a simple, timeless bourgeois elegance.
We noticed that often many opt for a composition of smaller lamps to design the environment.
Grey shades are still widespread in textile and surfaces and the use of concrete is increasing – on walls and in small tables and object, too- together with soft pink, brick red and terracotta, confirming Marsala, Pantone Color of the Year and Copper Orange, Colour Futures Akzo Nobel.
The M&O designer of the year is Oki Sato (Nendo), who designed the amazing ChocolaTextureLounge.
