On the occasion of the last Osservatorio Smart Working Conference of Politecnico di Milano, the Smart Working Award were assigned as every year.
Storeis, an e-commerce and digital marketing consultancy company, was awarded both the first prize of the jury in the SME category, and that of the public.
These awards are added to the ranking among the best workplaces in Italy according to Great Place to Work.
Each company has “a different story” to tell, as the Storeis payoff mentions. And this “true story” of excellence, coherence, enthusiasm and passion can be a stimulus and provide ideas for those who want to successfully undertake the path of smart working.
Even if positioned among the SMEs, Storeis is truly a great company to work in, in terms of business climate, workplace and engagement; strong growth in both turnover (+ 49% in 2021) and talents (61 people with an important recruitment plan in place).
It was founded in 2018 by Andrea Vit (born in 1983), current CEO, a Millennial with broad visions, capable of attracting and involving young talents, who declares:
“We are extremely satisfied with how we are growing: growth is exponential… the real challenge is to identify and train talents to be included in the company with a long-term perspective. The Great Resignation is in fact completely changing the dynamics of recruiting and retention of collaborators… for this reason, at Storeis we invest heavily in people, encouraging the adoption of corporate wellbeing policies and we will continue to do so in the coming years. From work-from-anywhere to internal training to team building to hybrid workspaces, we believe that our people are the heart of the organization and we want to take care of their work-life balance…”
The company has always provided agile and flexible working methods (holidays and hours). An advanced smart working that includes Work From Anywhere (in addition to the possibility of remote working for 3 days a week, remote working from abroad or from any other location is favored for agreed periods of time).
Furthermore, to offre high quality and innovative services, the company invests 10% in R&D (to which 15% of the work activity of each employee is destined) and training (in 2021 over 6,800 were carried out hours of training); each employee has an individual annual budget for courses and training; off-site workshops are organized every month to strengthen team building and the internal sharing of best practices and new projects; thanks to the “Buddy Program”, each new employee is supported by a mentor, who accompanies him along the entire path of insertion.
In addition, work from anywhere means the possibility of remote working for 3 days a week and favor remote working from abroad or from any other location for agreed periods of time.
Other new initiatives are also being studied to further stimulate creativity, hybrid working methods and innovation with the aim of allowing the best possible work-life balance to all employees.
A workplace with a strong personality that reflects a positive organization.
The Storeis headquarters, in an 18th century building in the historic center of Padua, was built in collaboration with the architect Claudia Gallo to encourage hybrid work and inspired by four principles in line with the corporate values: generating positive impact (on people, on the city), rediscover conviviality, enhance collaboration, let creativity flow.
More than two-thirds of the area is dedicated to socializing, play and relaxation activities, including a playroom with ping-pong table, table football, Play Station, beer tap, hammocks and a large kitchen.
The remaining space (less than a third of the total) houses the working area with unassigned, bookable workstations, equipped with height-adjustable sit-stand desks on wheels for easy and spontaneous reconfiguration of the environments. Materials with low environmental impact were selected for the installation.
The particular attic configuration with exposed wooden beams, while connoting the image of the offices, suggested the creation of individual phone boots that offer conditions of greater privacy.
The two terraces that also act as outdoor offices create an osmosis with the outside and nature; greenery and plants are also present in the meeting rooms and on the desks and add a further vital note to this vibrant workplace.
