The project by Michele De Lucchi for the next Salone del Mobile is coming up. The installation includes four linked different functional areas (club, individual work, agorà, laboratories); this “indoor urban environment” is named “The Walk” a subject De Lucchi has already disclosed during the first WOW! Jelly Session. Update coming soon: stay tuned!
Here the first previews of the exhibition/event by Salone del Mobile and core of the next Workplace 3.0 that will take place from April 14th to 19th, 2015.
“The Walk” represents the symbol of the new “work-life balance” vision; it is focused on the idea of “Path” as possible place of self-identification, a subject Michele De Lucchi already pointed out two years ago during the first WOW! Jelly Session at Kinnarps Showroom in Milan talking about the results of his research “Office Dwellings” carried out with his students at Politecnico di Milano.
In that occasion Michele explained “We thought about the needs of the individual or the single groups to identify with an architectural element. We worked on an office similar to an empty urban space to be filled with buildings. The most interesting thing was to see the projects together, for what really matters is the overall environment created. Maybe the way from the sidewalk to one’s workplace is more important than the workplace itself”.
The Workplace 3.0 “The Walk” will take place among a club area (reception, lounge area, cafeteria…), another one devoted to individual work (privacy…), the agorà (spaces for conferences, meetings, classes, cinema…) and different laboratories (workshops, service, hardware …) and it will offer us an amazing environmental experience.
